Interactive Installation

This is an interactive installation (Flow 5.0) by a Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, using hundreds of fan to create an impressive interactive work. As the photo shown, the fans will turned on when the work detected the audiences. It is a surprising work to me, a computer cooling fan used to be a very boring computer tool but now it is a piece of work which can attract people to look, feel and taste the fan.

14K Tee VS HK Creative

Watched a film yesterday, Death Race, there is a character, in fact a hongkong-ese, called Fourteen K. It remind me of a collective of design by G.O.D., it was again a big news in Hong Kong as well as some others countries. The designers and shopkeepers of G.O.D. was arrested because the police believe they are promoting gangs culture (whereas 14K is a well known group of gang in HK). After the film, then i wonder, should HK police arrest the film maker in US too? This is certainly a creative freedom matter, in US they do not have such problem, they can say whatever they say in film whereas we seem we can in HK. It is true that G.O.D. meant to use the words "14K" to represent the gangs, they are always been a leading product company who aims to promote HK sub/culture. However, they were playing safe, they were trying to do something in which they could avoid breaking the law such as the abrove design it said, INCOME 14K and not only 14K standing alone. Hong Kong government always say HK is a city of art, city of creative etc. This time, HK government can either change the slogan or change their mind.

Flexable Furniture

This is a flexable furniture designed and made in Taiwan, it was indeed a big hit in 2007. Although it seem to be a outdated news, it is still a good one to begin with. Many people claims that Asian products are not creative and useful either. This chair proved half of it, it is indeed a creative product, especially for asia design. In the usage point of view, i believe the design is kind of hard to place it within a house, first, the design, second, the material. So, i hope to see further improvement soon or yet.
